FOOD DRIVES

BSA Food Drive 2016

NOVEMBER 12, 2016: SCOUTING FOR FOOD - One of Scouting’s foundational principles is “doing a good turn daily.”  Scouts at all levels of our program participate in good turns and service projects. Scouting for Food has been a project of the BSA for decades.  Scouts go out on one weekend (November 5th), place hangers on the doors of their neighbors, and come back later (November 12th) to pick up the food and take it to a local food bank.

JULY - OCTOBER 2017: FEDS FEED FAMILIES The USDA is once again leading the Feds Feed Families campaign with the support of the Chief Human Capital Officers Council and other agency partners.

Last year we collected nearly 9 million pounds of food, and are asking agencies this year to set their own goals again and beat their previous best! Since the campaign began in 2009, Federal workers have donated and collected 24.1 million pounds of food and other non-perishable items to support families across America.

Daily Bread will be the recipient of this years efforts. Look for the collection boxes on Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral.
